Every number on this page was read off the provider’s own pricing page, or its US App Store listing where the price is an in-app price. The pricing pages are listed below, and in-app prices can be checked in the US App Store. Pricing changes without notice; where the provider’s page and ours disagree, the provider’s page is right.
The trend
In the most recent months the basket of providers was not the same. The last three measurements counted 6, 8 and 7 providers. Any month-on-month figure would be measuring our coverage, not the market. Until two months cover one and the same basket, we publish no trend. The individual prices above are unaffected: each was read at its source and stands on its own.

One number per provider goes in: the lowest paid monthly price, which is the realistic point at which paying begins. Across the 9 providers with a paid plan we then report the average, the median, the cheapest and the dearest. Free plans are not counted in the paid average.
Guide prices are what these are: liable to shift with any promotion. A weekly price watch re-checks them, and once a month the whole set is measured again and kept in the history. The whole series is available in the machine-readable feed.
