About LastPass
LastPass made password managers mainstream and still has one of the largest user bases in the world. The product remains capable. Solid apps, good autofill, and a usable free plan limited to one device type. But honesty requires mentioning the 2022 data breach, in which encrypted vaults were stolen, and the slow communication that followed. The company has since rebuilt its security organization. It works. We simply see no reason to choose it over Bitwarden or 1Password today.
LastPass pricing
LastPass costs $3 per month, or $36 per year on the Premium (annual) plan. There is a free tier as well. List prices on annual billing, checked on 11 June 2026; paying monthly usually costs more.
Every plan LastPass sells, with the yearly price next to the monthly one.

- Dark web monitoring
- 1 GB encrypted storage
“Once the obvious choice, but the 2022 breach and its messy aftermath cost a lot of trust. The product still works fine. We just see no reason to pick it over Bitwarden or 1Password today.”Editorial team, via PasswordShortlist
